UALR in Need of Damaged Kayaks

Got a cracked kayak in the back yard? Wanna donate it to a good cause? We
need a couple of repairable large cockpit kayaks for the instruction
program. The Central Chapter of the ACC has allotted $600 to acquire 3
boats for permanent residence at the pool. Boats with cracks are acceptable
but need to be more of the generic designs rather than last year's
rodeo design. These boats would be used to teach UALR students how to
kayak. I will donate the time to fix them to where they will survive the
pool environment.

We already have a line on a full sized Corsica so we need a couple more.
If you have an old large cockpit boat in decent condition, we may be able to
buy it from you if the money holds out. Email me at maxjoyce@ipa.net
and I'll try to get with you. Thanks for helping to promote paddling here in
Arkansas.

UALR/ACC Roll Sessions (Little Rock, AR)

The ACC will sponsor roll sessions at the UALR pool in Little Rock on Wedensday and Thursday evenings and on Saturday afternoons. Until we figure out how much swim team activity will be there, UALR has asked that we not get in the water on until 7:00 PM. This will likely change back to 6:30 PM if the swim team practice is less than anticipated. So for now it's Wed/Thurs 7-8PM and Sat 2-5PM.
Quickie Rules
  1. Clean boat/gear/bodies!
  2. No street shoes on the deck
  3. No glass bottles on deck
  4. Allow students of UALR and faculty to try out your boat if asked. (That's why we're allowed in there in the first place.)
Right now we need Thursday volunteers for monitor duty. The first day the pool will be available is September 15th. Also, there's a new administration observing our behavior so let's make a goood first impression. The sessions are free to ACC members and UALR students, and there is a $5.00 charge for everyone else. Please contact Max Wellhouse (maxjoyce@ipa.net) for more information.
